About Koda aka Goose
Koda, affectionately known as Goose, is seeking a foster or adoptive home. This gentle soul had once faced the threat of euthanasia in Arkansas, but he found a temporary safe haven with a Denkai foster family. Over the past year, Goose has proven himself to be a sweet and affectionate boy, getting along well with kids and other dogs. He adores his people and has been an overall good companion. However, Goose's journey hasn't been without its challenges. Many dogs with difficult pasts develop certain quirks. He can be hesitant when navigating tight spaces or exploring new areas, but with patience, he’s made notable progress in building his confidence. Unfortunately, after being adopted in February, Goose experienced an unexpected shift. Reports from his new home indicate he's become increasingly fearful and has shown some unpredictable behaviors with the resident dogs. Although he has been reactive to nearby dogs and people, it's important to note he has never crossed any boundaries. His fear of men and anxiety around young children also signal that his living environment has not been the ideal match. Despite these struggles, Goose retains many wonderful qualities. He loves to snuggle and has never shown food aggression. We believe his behaviors stem from fear and past trauma rather than any malice. With the right kind of environment and an experienced, patient adopter, Goose has a promising chance to thrive. We’re looking for an adult-only home that can provide him with the calmness and support he needs to flourish. Thoughtful introductions with other dogs will also be key. If you have the compassion to help a dog in need of understanding, Goose may be the perfect match for you. Please, let’s give this deserving boy another chance. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
