About Max

Max is an affectionate 8-year-old rat terrier mix with a calm temperament. This 20 lb. gent often starts off a bit shy but quickly warms up, eager to sit beside you and offer sweet kisses. He craves companionship and enjoys being close to his people. Max does well with other dogs and the two cats in his foster home. He would thrive in a household with adults or older children, as younger kids can be a bit much for him. House trained and familiar with walking on a leash, Max is ready to be your couch companion once he’s done with his outdoor adventures. He had hip surgery to remove cancer, and a recent biopsy shows a high probability of being cancer-free. Although he may experience some weakness in his back end and has difficulty with stairs, he manages fine outside. Some incontinence issues require management, as he has limited control during morning walks. If you have a heart big enough for a special pup like Max, he’s ready to show you love in return. This could be the start of a beautiful friendship!
