About Max
Max is a lively and healthy 4-year-old Golden Retriever, weighing in at about 82 pounds of gorgeous red and orange fluff. After being surrendered by his family due to housing issues, he's looking for a new home where he can thrive again. Max is social and enjoys the company of people. He walks beautifully on a leash and already knows commands like "sit" and "paw". This friendly fellow has lived harmoniously with adults, kids aged 9, 11, and 18, a cat, and five other medium-sized dogs. He gets along well with strangers and has a good rapport with familiar pets. One quirk is his nervousness around unfamiliar dogs during walks, a response to a previous biting incident. However, he's been making great strides in managing this fear, recently ignoring a barking dog while remaining calm and collected. Max needs a family ready for playtime, training, and lots of cuddles to help him adjust to this major change in his life. Heβs a loyal dog with a big heart, eager to find that special someone who can provide the love and patience he requires to heal. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
