About Argiro
Argiro is a two-year-old Retriever/Shepherd mix picked up as a stray in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, who’s eager to settle down and find his person. He’s a big dog with even bigger paws, friendly eyes, and a tail that barely stops wagging. In the yard, he needs a little time to burn off energy but grows more attentive and easier on the leash the longer he’s out. Volunteers say Argiro greets other dogs with curiosity but shows no aggression, and it’s clear he’s looking for connection and attention. He comes up for pets, leans in closer now, and is slowly learning to trust again. Argiro is smart, knows basic commands like "sit" and "shake," and is polite about heading back inside. He’s house trained and rarely has kennel accidents. Due to being underfed as a stray, he’s a little food-obsessed at the moment and can be quick to grab treats, but he’s picking up “gentle” rapidly. With a bit more weight and consistent care, Argiro will shine as a loyal companion. He’s neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and will soon be ready for adoption in New Canaan, CT after heartworm treatment. Argiro gets along with other dogs and needs a home ready for an active, affectionate dog who’s still learning to relax into the good life. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
