Lizzy is like a sweet, warm chocolate chip cookie in dog form—gentle, comforting, and hard to resist. She has faced more than her fair share of challenges, coming from a hoarding situation that left her with a history of hardship. During her transport, she managed to escape and evaded capture for two weeks, causing concern among volunteers who tirelessly searched for her. When Lizzy was finally found, she had suffered a severe leg injury after being hit by a car. Fortunately, vets were able to surgically repair her fractured front leg, and she's fully recovered, though she won’t be a running buddy or an agility star. This two-year-old Border Collie remains a kind-hearted soul, learning to build her confidence in a safe and calm environment. Lizzy enjoys slow walks and will need a leash when outside due to her flight risk; she has escaped twice, traveling significant distances. While she can be shy, she’s gentle with people and good with dogs—cats are an unknown. Her ideal home will be patient and loving, allowing her to flourish at her own pace. In exchange, you will be rewarded with a steadfast companion who loves cuddles, relaxing in grass, and savoring peanut butter Kongs. One of her charming quirks is carrying a human slipper into her crate to lie on while she rests.
