Sunny is a beautiful 8-month old female Labrador Retriever mix who was surrendered by her owner on June 13, 2026. Sunny has a black short smooth coat with a patch of white on her chest, white socks on her front paws, a long tail, and an adorable face with hopeful expressive brown eyes, a slender muzzle, a teeny tiny splash of white on her chin, and large floppy ears. The fur on Sunny's back has a wavy/curly texture which gives her a rather unique appearance. This young lady is merely an overgrown puppy and is understandably nervous/afraid being in an unfamiliar place with so many other dogs nearby and people that she does not yet realize are her new best friends (our HSOV kennel techs and shelter staff). Sunny actually has a lovable personality but it takes her awhile to warm up to new people. Sunny will sit on your lap with her paws wrapped around your neck when you gain her trust and she senses that you are going to be kind to her. Sunny weighs 25 lbs. These photos of Sunny were taken on June 18th when HSOV Shelter Manager Tracy Moore accompanied this little sweetheart for outdoor pictures. Tracy has gained Sunny's trust, so she felt safe with Tracy by her side. It was touching to see Sunny 'perk up' when she saw dogs being walked by volunteers in the distance .. Sunny would love to be back in a quiet home with a special someone who would give her the time to adjust to her new home on her own schedule. This little beauty is available to foster or foster-to-adopt with an approved HSOV foster/adoption application.
