This sweet boy (Andrew) was brought to the HSOV on June 13, 2026 by a Washington County Ohio Deputy Sheriff after Andrew was found on Milltown Road in the Newport Ohio area. Andrew was accompanied by his Collie companion (Tony). These boys had been making themselves at home and staying close to a kind individual's home for several days. That Good Samaritan posted their pictures on Facebook and tried in vain to locate their family. Andrew is estimated to be 6-years old+ and is possibly a Labrador Retriever/Boxer mix. This older gentleman has a lovely reverse brindle coat with white highlights, a long tail, and an adorable frosty face with dark brown eyes, a black button nose, a long slender muzzle, and short floppy ears. These photos were taken late in the afternoon/early evening on June 16th when HSOV Volunteer Robert accompanied Andrew for outdoor photos. Robert quickly learned that Andrew was very intelligent (and treat motivated) .. Within a few minutes, Andrew was obeying every request and he excelled in the 'sit pretty' and 'shake paws' commands .. And he was also a pushover for attention. Andrew is a happy guy who displayed his beautiful 'smile' in nearly all of his photos. Andrew weighs approximately 55-60 lbs and walked well on a leash with Volunteer Robert by his side. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Andrew was held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that his family would have the opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership. Surprisingly, neither Andrew nor Tony were reclaimed.
