Meet Punchy! Punchy is a handsome male neutered brown tabby Domestic Shorthair with an incredible story of resilience and recovery. He was surrendered to our rescue after his previous owner noticed something was wrong, and he was quickly diagnosed with a urethral blockage that required emergency medical care. After receiving prompt treatment and dedicated recovery support, Punchy is now doing wonderfully and currently has a clean bill of health. He has fully bounced back and is feeling like his happy, affectionate self again. Punchy is an extremely loving and people-oriented cat who adores attention, affection, and being close to his humans. He is the kind of cat who will happily soak up pets, companionship, and all the love you can give. Because of his history, Punchy will require a special urinary diet for life to help prevent the formation of crystals that caused his blockage. His future family must be committed to this important routine, along with close lifelong monitoring of his litter box habits to ensure he stays healthy and comfortable. He will do best in a calm, stable home with a family that understands his medical needs and is prepared to stay attentive to any changes in his urinary health. Punchy has been through a lot, but he hasn't lost his sweet, loving spirit. Now he's ready for a forever home where he can finally relax, be cherished, and stay healthy for life. Punchy has had all age-appropriate vaccinations, has been dewormed, microchipped, received monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention, tested negative for FeLV, and has been altered. We recommend having a fecal test rechecked within 48 hours of adoption, which is covered by us. If they test positive for any parasites, we will provide the dewormer recommended by your veterinarian at no additional cost. Adoption Fee: $175 Adopters will receive copies of their microchip registration information, adoption contract, medical records, and a handout about Upper Respiratory Infections (URI) in cats. The microchip registration is lifelong, and we will register it for you before adoption. Punchy is doing great with litter box use. We recommend starting them in a smaller room with a litter box and gradually introducing them to the rest of the home. Slow introductions to existing pets are always encouraged to ensure a successful transition. We will provide food to help with the transition to their new home and are happy to answer any questions after adoption. While we would love for you to continue veterinary care with us at Pawsitive Care, you are welcome to use the veterinarian of your choice. If you think Punchy would complete your family, please contact us at pawsitivecausemi@gmail.com. Pawsitive Cause Non-Profit Animal Rescue is a no-kill, foster-based rescue in Holly, Michigan. Our animals live in foster homes where they are treated like family while they wait for their forever homes. Adoption requires an approved application (which can be found on our Facebook page) and meet-and-greet. We strive to match each animal with the best possible home.
