About Winky
Make their next chapter their best one yet. Meet Winky, a black Domestic Shorthair with a remarkable story and a gentle, resilient spirit. After coming into rescue as a kitten in very rough shape—battling a severe upper respiratory infection, being severely underweight, infested with fleas, and suffering from a ruptured eye (which was surgically removed)—she’s blossomed into a quiet, healthy adult companion. Now 3 years old and spayed, Winky prefers calm company and thrives in peaceful spaces, often staying close but not always seeking physical affection. She can be a bit shy about being petted, so she’s best suited for someone who will let her set the pace for interaction and give her time to build trust. Winky adores canned food and enjoys having feline friends nearby; she truly shines in households with other cats who can offer her comfort and security. She would love a calm, patient adopter who appreciates the value of quiet companionship and will let love grow gently over time. You’ll be pleased to know Winky’s vaccinations are up to date, she’s been dewormed, microchipped, and has tested negative for FeLV. To help with her transition, you’ll receive her medical records, a handout about Upper Respiratory Infections, a checklist for bringing her home, and starter food, along with helpful tips for slow introductions to other pets. Litter box habits are excellent, and she’ll benefit from a careful introduction to her new home and any animal family members. If your home feels complete with a quiet, dignified companion by your side, and you understand the beauty of building trust with a gentle soul, Winky could be your perfect match. Fun fact: Winky was born on October 15, making her a charming Libra—these cats are known for their peaceful and harmonious nature! Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
