Sleepy Urgent needs a loving home quickly! This 9-week-old Shepherd mix is currently at the Kern County Animal Services - Bakersfield Shelter, where she's facing an upper respiratory infection and the possibility of euthanasia. She has been at the shelter since June 4, 2026, and her time is running out. Sleepy is a small, short-coated female with a mix of yellow, tan, and gray colors that make her unique. Despite her current situation, she’s ready to find a family that can provide her the care she deserves. Currently, she is not house trained, which means she’ll need some patient guidance in her new home. Good news: she is up to date on vaccinations. Companion Animal Protection Services (CAPS) is working hard to help find homes for at-risk dogs. If you think you can provide a stable environment for Sleepy, please reach out to CAPS. Foster homes within Kern County are also needed. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
