About Kelp

Meet Kelp! Just like the sea plant he's named after, Kelp is gentle, a bit wavy, and happiest when he has something—or someone—to hold onto. At about 2 years old and weighing just 14 pounds, he arrived at our rescue when his previous owner could no longer care for him. Though his transition was a bit overwhelming at first, Kelp is steadily finding his footing. He may initially be shy around new people, but underneath that cautious exterior is a sweet dog eager to be part of your life. Once he knows he’s safe, his personality shines through. He loves to follow you around, curl up beside you, and happily join in whatever you’re doing. Kelp adores other dogs and derives a lot of confidence from having them around. Playful and affectionate, he’s also content being carried like the tiny baby he thinks he is! Rather than typical pug treats, Kelp prefers back scratches and gentle attention. Talk to him like he’s the cutest thing in the world—because he truly is. Kelp will thrive in a patient home that gives him time to settle in and continue building confidence. Once he comes out of his shell, you’ll discover a loyal little sidekick just waiting for a loving forever home. Interested in Kelp? Please inquire today!
