About Luke

Luke is a 6-year-old purebred Labrador Retriever looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home through Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue. He found his way to the shelter through no fault of his own, as his previous family faced tough times. Luke is well-socialized, having lived in a home with teenagers and another dog, and he thrives on attention from everyone he meets. Eager to please, Luke loves to fetch and tug, and his food motivation makes him a quick learner. He needs some training on manners, particularly regarding his jumping excitement when greeting new friends. While he can pull on the leash, this can improve with more leash training and regular exercise. He demonstrates his basic commands well, especially “paw.” Luke is a joyful dog who can't wait to find his new forever home. He’s house trained and gets along great with both kids and other dogs. He may require some adjustment time as he transitions from the shelter, but with the right mental and physical stimulation, Luke will shine. If you have the space for a loving companion, Luke could be just the one for you. Ready to make his day? Click apply to start the adoption process.
