Marti is a 13-year-old Shih Tzu mix in Gulfport, MS who has a gentle way about him and a lot of love to offer. At about 15 lbs, he’s settled comfortably into his senior years and is seeking a calm, steady home where someone is around much of the day. He’s fully housebroken and trusted around children, cats, and both small and large dogs. Marti lives easily with two other dogs—a Standard Poodle and a Bull Mastiff—without trouble. His main requests are a comfy spot and a person who’ll give him attention and reassurance. While he isn’t formally trained, Marti has no history of biting. Arthritis can make grooming uncomfortable for him, so he needs someone patient willing to go slow and be gentle. Marti comes with a list of senior dog medical concerns—collapsing trachea, enlarged heart, arthritis, and luxating patella—so his adopter needs to be ready to work with a vet to keep him pain-free and supported. Despite these challenges, he’s still hungry for affection and enjoys quiet companionship with his people. He’s neutered, current on vaccines, on heartworm prevention, and happily eats Pedigree Small Dog food. Born under the sign of Taurus, Marti may have a stubborn yet loyal streak. He deserves to spend his retirement surrounded by comfort and kindness. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
