About Ernest
Ernest has striking green eyes and a soft, gentle presence. He’s an adorable medium-sized mixed-breed dog, likely part Shepherd, Retriever, and Hound. At roughly 10 months old, Ernest still has that young, puppy energy, but in the shelter he’s kept to himself—shy at first but incredibly sweet and affectionate when he feels safe. He’s quick to show his loving side to people and submits easily with other dogs, so there’s every reason to believe he’ll do well in a family setting. Like most puppies, Ernest needs someone willing to guide him through the basics since he hasn’t had the chance to learn what home life is all about. A household able to set aside time for his training and routine is going to set him up for success. He’s currently in Alabama but will be making his way to Woolwich, ME soon. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
