SWEET DOLCE IS READY FOR HER FOREVER FAMILY This adorable 1 year 7 month old girl was in the right place at the right time when she asked for help. A road crew was working on a job along a very busy highway when she came out of the tree line near the guard rail. They immediately ensured she stayed safe until our Animal Control Officer arrived. They noticed, as did our officer, that her back leg was swollen and she was not putting weight on it. After scanning for a microchip and finding none, she was brought safely to the shelter. During her stray hold she remained comfortable and pain-free, but no family came forward to reclaim her. Once her hold was complete, Dolce received X-rays, which revealed she had sustained a fracture to her left hind leg. Due to the severity of the break and the significant swelling, the decision was made to amputate for her long-term comfort and health. Despite everything she has been through, Dolce has remained incredibly lovable, friendly, and affectionate. Everyone who has met her has fallen in love with her gentle and resilient spirit. She is recovering well from surgery and is now officially ready for her forever family. She has adapted beautifully to life on three legs and is clearly much more comfortable without the pain of her untreated fracture.
