Birdie
AvailableBirdie is a friendly female German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix with a medium build and a soft apricot, tan, and sable medium-length coat. She is an adult dog and has been spayed and vaccinated. Birdie lives in Humble, TX, and is house trained, used to a leash, and comfortable in a crate. She doesn’t have special needs and is seeking a loving home to provide her with the stability she deserves.
About Birdie
Birdie’s past is mostly a mystery, but what’s certain is her resilience. She weathered a Houston freeze alone and arrived at rescue already carrying old injuries. Only two years old, Birdie weighed just 54 pounds at intake and was diagnosed with severe bilateral hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis, which she endured for a long time. After surgery, she’s on the mend and embracing a pain-free life for the first time in years. Birdie is eager for affection and fits easily into family life—she gets along with children and people of all ages, and she’s fully house, leash, and crate trained. Car rides are a favorite activity. Calm and easygoing at home, she simply wants to be near her people and enjoy the comfort of belonging. Birdie’s strength and gentle spirit mark her as the kind of companion who changes perspectives about what matters most in a dog. She is fully vetted, spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Birdie is ready for a family willing to look beyond her scars and offer stability and love. Texas Bark Squad offers out-of-state adoption with approved applicants. What are you waiting for?
