About Emily

Click apply to start the adoption process. Meet Emily, an adorable 6-month-old German Shepherd/Hound mix with a striking tricolor (brown, black, and white) short coat. Rescued with her siblings from challenging beginnings, Emily quickly discovered the joys of puppyhood in the care of her loving foster family. She shines with confidence and grace—always ready to pose stoically in the yard or relax contentedly in a lawn chair while soaking up admiration. Emily is spirited and playful, keeping up with canine pals in her foster home. Although she enjoys rough-and-tumble fun, she also melts into your arms when it is time for soothing cuddles. Emily thrives around other dogs, especially those willing to mentor and play with her. For potential adopters, she will do best in a home with a private yard, another large and playful dog, and people ready to provide patient training as she continues to grow. Homes with older children are suitable, particularly with handlers experienced in caring for large breeds, as she is still learning her size and strength. Because all dogs are fostered in private homes, meetings are by application and arrangement only. Fun fact: With a birthday in early May, Emily is a determined and down-to-earth Taurus—expect a reliable and affectionate companion. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
