Onyx is a small, black and white/cream Shih Tzu with a wire coat, currently living in TEMECULA, CA. She is a spayed female who is house trained, fully vaccinated, and has special needs due to a developmental leg issue that does not cause her pain. Even with her challenges, she is active and friendly, ready for a caring home.

Onyx is only two years old but has already faced more than most dogs ever will. She came from a neglected situation, where care was minimal, but her good-natured, joyful spirit has never disappeared. Despite an old untreated leg injury from puppyhood—her leg is much smaller than the others and has significant muscle loss—Onyx adapts like a champ. She gets around easily, can walk several city blocks, and even takes stroller breaks but is always eager to keep going. Vets determined her leg doesn't cause her pain and doesn’t need to be amputated, so she continues to live life fully, even playing and keeping up with canine friends. Onyx is dog-friendly, enjoys playtime, and approaches life with a bright, loving energy. She’s spayed, vaccinated, and house trained. People fall for her adorable underbite and her resilient personality. All she asks for is a safe home with people ready to love her as much as she’ll love them.
