About Matilda
Matilda is a big, lovable Anatolian Shepherd mix with a gentle, affectionate spirit. She’s the picture of a gentle giant—soft-footed, deeply loving, and always eager to be near her humans. Matilda thrives on close companionship and will happily fill the role of family cuddle buddy, just in a much larger size. Don’t mistake her calmness for laziness; she’ll break into a silly round of zoomies to remind you she’s still full of fun. She’s more interested in toys than in sticks or big branches, and you won’t find her playing fetch for fun, but toss her a soft toy and she’ll gladly show her playful side. Matilda gets along well with other dogs but prefers not to be bossed around, holding her own if needed but never starting trouble. She’s housebroken, which makes life a lot easier with a dog her size. Her easygoing nature is balanced with just the right dose of confidence and independence you’d expect from a big guardian breed. Matilda will do best with a family that knows and appreciates what it means to share life with a smart, self-assured guardian dog. If you’re looking for steadfast loyalty and a gentle, gorgeous friend, Matilda is waiting in Saluda, VA. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
