Though young at heart, her exact age is uncertain as she was a stray before arriving at the rescue.

About Zelda

Zelda joined the Appalachian Great Pyrenees Rescue in November 2025, and her name suits her perfectly. It captures both the fierce spirit and the joyful warmth she brings. Full of energy, Zelda loves to leap into action, especially when it’s time for her daily walks. She enjoys exploring and taking in all the smells, occasionally getting a bit excited. With a big yard to roam, she’ll thrive in a home where she can unleash her playful nature. Though Zelda came to the rescue as a stray, she is young and full of life, likely around two or three years old. She carries a bit of Great Pyrenees mixed with Anatolian Shepherd and Maremma Sheepdog. Zelda has tested positive for Heartworm but is on the slow-kill protocol which isn’t affecting her at all. Her breed does best with a fenced yard, and she’d thrive in a loving home that can provide energy and affection. Zelda is already spayed, vaccinated, and house-trained, making her a wonderful addition for the right family. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
