About Meridith

Meridith is a purebred Pekingese girl, born to two petite Pekingese parents—she’s about 9 pounds right now and both her parents stay under 12 pounds. She came into rescue along with her three brothers, and the whole group had to visit the groomer for a fresh start. Because of some matting, Meridith’s hair is currently trimmed shorter than the signature Pekingese look, but it’s already starting to grow back nicely. Her red coat will need routine professional grooming to help prevent mats and keep her looking sharp. Before arriving at the rescue in Texarkana, Meridith had a run-in with fleas, which led to a little hair loss on her head, but she’s now on regular flea prevention and is getting back to her best self. She has started her puppy vaccinations and deworming, and all her medical records are organized for her new family. Meridith is not yet house trained and still too young to be spayed, but she’s growing fast, ready for someone to show her the ropes, and is looking for a loving home prepared for her grooming and basic care needs.
