About Grace
Gracie’s first days out of the shelter showed just how fragile she had become. When she arrived, she was underweight, frail, and clearly terrified, having spent weeks on the sidelines while bigger, louder dogs took over the shelter. Now that she’s safe in a foster home, she can begin to let her guard down. In her past, food was scarce, and it left her both hungry and mistrustful. She’s still getting used to the idea that her next meal is guaranteed, and that no one will blame her for fighting to survive. Gracie is a Miniature Pinscher mix, chocolate brown and spayed, about nine years old and roughly 16 lbs. Though she came with a cough and was thin, she’s now up to date on vaccines, microchipped, housebroken, and reliably uses training pads. Gracie’s gentle and mellow—timid in new places, but she warms up when she senses kindness. She’s affectionate and smart, able to pick up new commands and eager for attention, though she tends to relax more when it’s just her and one person. While she enjoys the company of other dogs and cats, she truly does best as the only animal in a quiet, single-owner home, where she can finally feel secure. Gracie deserves an understanding home willing to give her the peace she craves, and in return, she’ll be the most loyal friend you’ve ever met. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
