IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Mabel is a 2.5 year old pit bull mix weighing 64 pounds, is spayed, vaccinated, and currently being fostered in HOUSTON, TEXAS. Once matched with an approved adopter, she’s ready to transport out of state to her forever home. This sweet girl was found dumped outside a fitness studio subjected to fear and aggression with people chasing her with bats before a kind person said yes and agreed to foster her. Despite that ordeal, she is sweet as pie and absolutely adores people. Her favorite things in life are snuggling close, giving endless kisses, going for car rides, and soaking up all the attention. She’s a happy, outgoing girl who absolutely adores people. Visitors? New friends. Neighborhood kids? Besties. Her foster family says she has been especially wonderful and gentle with their autistic son, happily rolling around and cuddling with him with endless patience and sweetness. She truly has the biggest heart. She enjoys playing with other medium to large dogs and likes to roughhouse, though she can sometimes get a little overexcited and is still learning when playtime is over. On walks, she gets very happy to see other dogs and may pull to greet them, but she’s making great progress with leash manners. She would likely do well with a playful, tolerant dog companion or as the spoiled solo queen of the house. She would likely do best in a home without cats. Mabel can be left out unsupervised without destructive behavior and mostly just wants a comfy spot near her humans. When it comes to shots and certain vet procedures, Mabel appreciates a little extra patience and support to help her feel safe. She isn’t much of a crate fan and currently prefers the luxury of sleeping cuddled up with her people and sees no issue with that arrangement whatsoever. Mabel’s ideal home is one filled with love, cuddles, comfy couches, and people who appreciate a loyal, affectionate dog with a goofy personality and a huge heart. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown.
