About Hazelnut

Hazelnut just escaped a tough fate along with her brother, Willie. Rescued in the nick of time from an overcrowded shelter, Hazelnut now gets a second chance—a busy Memorial Day flight brought her straight to safety. These young, large-breed puppies often find themselves overlooked, but Hazelnut is determined to find her place. She's a shy little one, still settling in, but she's learning to trust with gentle leadership from her foster family, resident shepherds, and the house cat. With three teenagers at home, she's getting routine and positive experiences around kids. She's working off a few shelter health issues, including a regimen to treat worms and any pesky GI bugs, and she'll see the vet soon for a checkup and possible antibiotics. Hazelnut is underweight and working on building strength with a better diet. Her foster family reports she's quiet, cautious, but slowly coming out of her shell. Hazelnut was born under Aquarius, so you might notice a streak of independence and curiosity as she grows. Life just handed her a new chapter, and she's learning that people can be kind. Updates will follow as she blossoms in foster care. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
