About Otti
Otti is a 7-month-old pure-bred German Shepherd Dog who was found at just 4 weeks old, dehydrated and too young to be without care. She quickly became the star of her foster home, named Otti because she looked so much like a baby otter when she arrived. After healing from a minor ear injury and with careful attention to her health and vaccinations, Otti thrived surrounded by nurturing people and three other dogs. Her puppy days were all about snuggles, toys, and stroller rides on errands. Otti learned crate and potty training early and is now a leash-walking pro who still enjoys cozying up with her housemates or right by your feet. She loves people and connects closely with the dogs in her foster home. Recently, Otti began tail-chasing—an anxious behavior seen in shepherds. Proactive visits to UC Davis Veterinary Teaching Hospital led to behavioral and medical management, including prescription medication. Her anxiety has improved, though she may need ongoing support for this behavior. Otti also had a brief scare after swallowing a soft toy, but she recovered fully after surgical removal and her spay. She needs a family who can support her with patience and continue the helpful routines set by her vets. She gets along well with other dogs and children, and her shepherd loyalty shines through every day. Let Otti show you firsthand the devotion and sweetness German Shepherds are known for.
