AvailableApril is a black Labrador Retriever mix with a short coat who is currently three and a half months old and living in Gulfport, MS. She is a baby female, already spayed and vaccinated, weighing just over 20 pounds. April is house trained for her age and gets along well with other dogs, cats, and children. Her early life challenges mean she’s looking for a patient family to help her continue to thrive.
About April
April started life abandoned and alone, found barely surviving in a ditch until a caring vet office called in a rescue. She left behind hunger and fear, and now this black Labrador Retriever mix puppy is figuring out what comfort and care feel like for the very first time. At a bit over 3 months old and just beyond 20 pounds, April’s still all legs and awkward energy—in person, she’s visibly younger and smaller than she appears in pictures. Her foster home is the first place where April’s discovering play and safety. She adores wrestling with other puppies and finds adventure in even the smallest daily moments. She’s timid when meeting new people but warms up once given some space and patience. April responds to kindness, and her affection grows as her confidence does. She’d do best with adopters who understand that trust takes time—with structure and gentle encouragement, she’s sure to blossom. April gets along with dogs, cats, and children. She’s house trained for her age and ready to bond with the right person who’ll give her real security. Puppies need patience, and April in particular needs a family who’ll offer steady support. (She’s also up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed.) April is in Gulfport, MS but transport is available every 2-3 weeks to approved homes throughout the Northeast, with in-person pickup at the listed city. If you’re searching for a sensitive, playful puppy who has a lifetime of gratitude to share, April could be the perfect fit. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
