Otis
AvailableOtis, a young neutered male hound/mixed breed, has a yellow and tan coat with cream accents. At just over a year old, Otis is now thriving in Merritt Island, FL. He’s up to date on vaccinations and has shown a gentle nature with both dogs and cats (with a preference for calm feline companions).
About Otis
Some dogs are just different—you feel it instantly, and Otis is that kind of dog. When he first landed in the shelter, he was painfully thin and in desperate shape, but even then, his gentle spirit never wavered. You could count every rib, yet he wagged his tail and leaned into every bit of kindness offered. Thanks to a focused refeeding plan, Otis bounced back quickly, putting on weight and building strength week by week. His bloodwork surprised everyone for how solid it was, considering where he started. Now, he’s rediscovered what it feels like to be a healthy, happy, young pup. Volunteers always talk about how anyone who meets Otis wants to foster him—he’s simply that loveable. He greets everyone with trust and a quiet eagerness for affection, melting into your side if you let him. He’s never met a person he didn’t love, is great with other dogs, and even though cats spook him a bit, he gets along just fine with feline housemates who leave him be. Otis has a softness you can’t fake, always grateful for every moment of care and affection. You get the feeling he truly understands what it means to be rescued, and he gives it back in every look and gesture. Otis is available to go home in early June after his neuter and final vaccines. He deserves a family who will finally give him the safety and love he has always craved. Start your journey together! Apply now.
