About Nona
Nona is a goofy, loving, and high-energy hound waiting to win you over. After being found as a stray in Okeechobee, she moved straight into a foster home where she quickly adapted to indoor life—sleeping in bed, playing with toys, and thriving with affection. Nona has gained healthy weight and come a long way, proving to be both resilient and genuinely sweet. At about 16 months old and likely to weigh around 40-45 pounds, Nona bursts with personality. She enjoys walks, fetch, car rides, and cuddling up for belly rubs once her energy is spent. You’ll notice her quick learning: she already knows basic commands like "sit," "down," and "stay." While leash walking and adapting to unfamiliar situations are still a work in progress, she simply needs a bit of steady guidance. Potty training is underway, and she's making solid headway—regular outdoor breaks support her progress. Nona does best with other dogs, cats, and children and has shown herself to be snuggly and warm-natured. She is currently being treated for heartworm in a foster home, where she needs a calm environment and short bursts of activity. She’ll be ready for adoption once treatment wraps up, but you can already get your name on her list if you’re interested. Nona will suit an active household, preferably with structure, patience, and plenty of love. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
