About Luna
Luna is a 1.5-year-old, 9-pound Chihuahua/Corgi mix with a big heart and some clear needs for her future home. She gets along with dogs, cats, and kids, but she needs time to warm up to new people and can be shy at first. Once she's comfortable, Luna is glued to your side, happiest snuggled up in your lap. She absolutely loves to play fetch with her toys and has an impressive vertical—she can clear a 2.5-foot high pen without trouble, so a secure fenced yard is a must. Luna is working on her house training and is already pee pad and crate trained, but she still needs an attentive, patient person to help her finish the job. She tends to bark at strangers or anyone approaching the door, but quiets down otherwise. Her foster home requires that potential adopters are home much of the time, have a secure fenced yard, allow another friendly small dog in the home, and don’t mind Luna on the furniture and sleeping in the bed with them. Consistency, gentle leadership, and continued training are all things Luna needs. Only homes meeting all these requirements should apply, and local applications are prioritized for easy home checks and meet-and-greets. Volunteers cannot travel far, so proximity matters. Her transition will require at least two quiet weeks with just immediate household members, so Luna can adjust and build trust. She is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped, and currently in Cherry Hill, NJ. Think you tick all the boxes for this devoted little companion?
