Meet Edna Jean Edna Jean, or EJ, is a sweet, playful young Shih Tzu Mix who was surrendered to rescue after being passed between multiple homes in her short life. She’s only about 8–9 months old, which makes it pretty surprising because everyone who meets her absolutely adores her. Her foster mom describes her as an awesome little dog with the cutest personality. EJ is extremely dog-friendly and currently lives with multiple other dogs in foster care, including two senior dogs and a playful 5-year-old pup. She has done great with the entire pack and knows how to adapt to the other dog’s energy. She especially loves playing with her foster sibling, Willow, and can happily wrestle and play for hours. She also LOVES toys and will enthusiastically play fetch, though returning the toy is still a work in progress. She is a very social pup who enjoys meeting people and has already accompanied her foster mom out to the local brewery, where she greeted everyone with sweetness and loved the attention. She’s affectionate, snuggly, and loves sleeping in bed with her humans at night. EJ is doing great with potty training and has had only one accident since arriving in foster care. She is also crate trained and settles nicely after a little initial puppy protest. Her foster mom says she is very smart and eager to learn. She’s still polishing up her leash skills, especially when she gets excited and wants to pull, but she’s already making good progress. Like many young puppies, EJ is active and playful. One thing to know is that this girl can JUMP. Her foster mom reports she can easily jump onto dining room tables if given the opportunity. She's taller (longer legs) than your typical Shih Tzu and has a more elongated snout compared to the flatter facial structure of a typical Shih Tzu. EJ is truly a loving, happy little pup who just wants to be part of the family. She’s playful, social, affectionate, dog-friendly, and incredibly charming. She’s going to make a wonderful companion for a lucky adopter.
