Dog's Name: Buggar (BUG0426LMUMN) Estimated Breed: Shih Tzu mix Approximate Age: 7 years Approximate Weight: 15 lbs Currently Living at: Foster Adoption Fee: $400 DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet Buggar – your easygoing, cuddle-loving best friend! Buggar is a small Shih Tzu mix with a big heart and an even bigger capacity for love. This sweet little guy is on the hunt for a forever home where he can settle in, relax, and be your loyal companion through life's everyday moments. His former foster family absolutely adored him—and it's easy to see why. Buggar is the definition of a “go-with-the-flow” pup. Whether you're heading out for a walk, lounging on the porch, or curling up on the couch for a cozy evening, Buggar is happiest right by your side. He's wonderfully adaptable and takes life in stride, making him a great fit for a variety of households. He's also a total gentleman! Buggar is housetrained, enjoys his walks, and already knows “sit.” He's highly food-motivated and will stand and "dance" for a treat. He also gets along well with other dogs, cats and kids, and he has a side gig as a personal trainer (see photo). Buggar has a playful side too! Once he's comfortable, he will engage with toys and play as well. Buggar is usually a very quiet dog, with little barking and no fuss--the type of dog you can bring anywhere. The only exception is that he loves his people so much that he doesn't like to be separated from them and gets anxious when left alone. So, at least, for now, he would not do well in an apartment or townhome situation unless the neighbors are very understanding, and he should be adopted by someone who is home most of the time and has the patience and willingness to work with him to overcome his anxiety. If you're looking for a loving, low-key companion who will bring warmth, calm, and companionship into your home, Buggar just might be your perfect match. Apply today and come meet Buggar—you'll see for yourself why everyone who meets him falls in love! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet. Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
