Dog's Name: Major (MAJ0526ALAMD) Estimated Breed: Shih Tzu Approximate Age: 5 years Approximate Weight: 10 lbs Currently Living at: Coming Soon Adoption Fee: $400 DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet Major — an adorable Shih Tzu who was rescued alongside his siblings, Harmony and Melody, when their elderly owner could no longer care for them. Major is now searching for a forever home where he can finally relax, feel safe, and be cherished the way he deserves. Despite losing the home he knew, this mild-mannered little fellow has remained incredibly friendly, and he has an easygoing personality that makes him a joy to be around. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and he also appears to be housebroken, which should make things a bit easier when transitioning to a new home. Unfortunately, Major's resilience continues to be tested as he has to face another challenge — a chronic eye infection that requires the removal of his left eye. After all he's been through, this brave boy deserves a future filled with comfort, kindness, and love. So why not apply today and give Major the forever home of his dreams! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet. Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
