As a double merle with limited vision, Charlie may be technically blind, but he doesn’t let it hold him back for a second. He navigates new environments with impressive confidence, using his exceptional hearing and sense of smell to follow both people and his canine friends. Since coming into foster care, Charlie has been living with an active family including three children aged 7 to 12 and a playful Labradoodle, Nola, who quickly became his best friend and guide. He flourishes with playful, confident dog companions, preferably his size or larger, and his love for canine buddies is absolutely central to his happiness. Charlie is crate-trained and is progressing well with potty training, especially when given plenty of breaks throughout the day. He’s comfortable with short leash walks for safety and guidance, enjoying new sights and smells alongside his furry friend. Charlie’s ideal home will include another playful and confident dog who can serve as a role model. He learns rapidly, adapts well, and is incredibly affectionate—often snuggling up at bedtime with his foster family's children. He responds best when introduced to new spaces gradually, starting in a safe room and expanding out as he becomes more comfortable. Toys that make noise are his favorite, and he’s easily motivated by treats and praise. With his joyful, fearless spirit and loving nature, Charlie is ready for a patient home that appreciates his unique view of the world and will help him thrive every step of the way.
