Devan was found as a stray on a nearby county and was really struggling in the shelter. She couldn’t hear anything, but the vibrations of all the dogs barking and moving around made her quiver in fear during the day. A foster said yes!! so we sprung her from her jail cell and she is relaxing in a comfy home just like she should be. Devan the Deaf Diva Dog is available for adoption! She is good with other dogs and would thrive with a family who understands that deaf dogs rock. We needed transport help from the shelter and another amazing volunteer stepped up. It just so happened, that the day Devan was scheduled to leave the shelter, was exactly one year after our transporter (Devan, you see what we did there 😄) said goodbye to her female white pitty Bailey. In honor of Bailey’s one year anniversary and Devan’s commitment to helping animals in need (and the fact both of them are absolute queens), we knew we had the perfect name! She is being fostered in Richmond, VA and is up to date on core vaccinations, has been dewormed, and is on monthly preventatives. Her adoption fee is $375 and covers the cost of core vaccinations, microchip, and his required neuter, along with the cost of his care while in foster. We require that all adopters, regardless of the dog’s age, are committed to ongoing training and socialization as part of responsible ownership.
