This sweet boy came to Beagles & Bentleys after being surrendered in Lincoln, NC in extremely rough shape following a suspected poisoning. After a hospital stay and a lot of care, Wilson is now safe and beginning his next chapter. What he needs most now is a calm, patient home where he can finally exhale. Despite everything he’s been through, Wilson remains incredibly loving and deeply attached to his people. He wants to be as close to you as possible at all times, whether that’s cuddling on the couch, following you around the house, or quietly resting by your side. He loves walks, bones, and soaking up affection, and as he continues to feel safer, his playful side is starting to emerge too. Wilson is house trained, crate trained, walks well on a leash, and knows “sit” and “come.” He has tested well with some dogs, but he can get nervous around dogs who come on too strong and hasn’t done well with his current foster dogs, so he would likely thrive in a calmer environment with slow introductions and respectful canine companions, or potentially as the only dog. He does well with cats. There’s something incredibly special about Wilson’s resilience. Even after being failed by humans, he still chooses trust, softness, and connection. His adoption fee is $375 and covers the cost of core vaccinations, microchip, and his required neuter, along with the cost of his care while in foster.
