Meet Cindy! This golden girl is a sweet, gentle, smart and happy 5 year old retriever looking for her forever family. Cindy spent the first years of her life as an outside barn dog, but has now come to appreciate life indoors. She loves being with her family wherever they go. She gets along with people of all ages, and is especially patient with the small children in her foster home. Are you looking for a dog who can accompany you to work, or sit with you on the patio at your local brewery? Cindy is your girl. She is not overly excitable, but is super friendly and will calmly meet new people. She is a social couch potato. She doesn't love being left home alone, but she is so well mannered out in public that you will want to bring her with you everywhere anyways! She walks great on a leash. Cindy is not crate trained, and doesn't like being confined to a certain area of the house. She will howl until you let her go where she wants to go. She has free roam in her current foster home and has been fantastic. She is 100% house trained and doesn't chew or exhibit any destructive behaviors. Cindy biggest obstacle is going to be her weight loss journey. She needs to lose about 15 to 20 pounds. She is already making headway in her foster home with consistent exercise. Cindy is a picky eater and we still have not found a dog food that she will eat. Her new family should be willing to work with her on these two issues. Cindy gets along great with the dog and cat in her foster home. She would appreciate another dog companion in her new family, however, that is not a requirement as she primarily just loves being around people. A fence is also not required as Cindy walks great on a leash, and doesn't seem to want to leave her peoples' side anyways. If you think Cindy might be a good fit for you, apply at camp companion!
