About Dunne
Dunne, also called Dune-buggy or Duners, started his life as a street dog in Afghanistan. He’s figured out how to make house living work and has picked up a lot since coming in from the wild. These days, he’s more confident—he no longer needs to follow his foster mom room to room and can sit and wait for his food or treats until he gets the go-ahead. Dunne can get the zoomies and has spurts of real excitement, so he’s not ideal for homes with young kids or anyone unsteady on their feet. He’s learned leash manners and generally sticks close on walks, especially with a familiar dog or person. Meeting new dogs on leash stresses him out and can make him reactive, so adopters will need patience there. He dislikes kenneling and feels safest when allowed to sleep out at night. Sudden moves make him nervous, but he’s improved a lot and continues to get better. Dunne is content relaxing on the deck or couch with his people, but he still needs a fenced yard or space to run off his energy. He’s looking for adopters who understand his journey, want to keep helping him progress, and are up for a loyal cuddle buddy. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Dunne
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Golden Retrievers like Dunne generally thrive in spacious homes where they have both indoor comfort and access to a yard. A relaxed, patient household is especially good for him due to his background.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Dunne would do best with a fenced yard where he can run and play. Golden Retrievers need plenty of space to exercise their energy, making apartments less ideal unless daily outdoor time is guaranteed.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Golden Retrievers are usually great with children. Dunne gets along with kids, but he’s a large, active dog, so supervision around very young or unsteady children is smart.
