Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org TINK HAS BEEN LOOKING FOR A HOME FOR OVER A YEAR NOW: no fault of her own - she's a very good dog - her fosters adore her! If you're interested in her please email Julie@socialteesnyc.org. We want to find her a forever home!! Our Team Says: Don't sleep on this Tiny girl. When we say pocket pit - we mean it. If you know anything about pits - they are all solid so 34lbs of pit is very very small. More than that she's perfect - she walks around like she's never had a bad day in her life. We rescued her in pretty bad shape - really horrific skin - and you can tell she had been used for countless babies. No more - you wouldn't believe her before and after photos. She's perfect in the city - huge cuddle bug, loves cats, can be left home alone, loves walks. Just the best. Her Foster Parent Says: "Tink! What a gem! I am pretty sure she makes the neighborhood happier by being here. She smiles at every person she passes, and every (I mean every!) person smiles right back. I wish I was as charming as her. She is without a doubt the perfect apartment dog in size and temperament. Tink's biggest passion in life is a nap. This cutie patootie has zero zooies and has simply decided there is no need to rush. The few times she does run, it is the funniest frog like stride you've ever seen. She is so quiet! If you want a peaceful home, Tink will deliver! I'm not even sure if she knows how to bark, Despite being the laziest girl in the world at home, she is alive in the city. She walks well with her tail wagging. Sometimes big dogs scare her and she will try to eat anything she sees but most of the time she is just minding her own business having the best day of her life. Now, affection. Tink is still working on what that meets. Getting pet seems to confuse her a little. BUT a good belly rub? She gets that! Cuddling? She gets that! Pretending she is a lap dog while I work? She gets that. Tinks a cuddle bug house hippo. Whoever gets Tink will be beyond lucky!" Energy Level: Medium – Needs a daily 60-90 minute morning walk or window of quick paced exercise in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant opportunities to socialize outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they're understimulated.) Tolerance to city: City pup – Seems unfazed by the sights and sounds, may as well have been born here. Potty Training: Yes – Few or no accidents Comfort level with strangers: Friendly but not dying for attention – Fine with meeting new people but not particularly interested, kind of shy in busy social situations like a gathering or a packed day in the park. Behavior with children (always requires adult supervision) Okay for respectufl kids - she's gentle and sweet Social behavior with other dogs A bit akward around other dogs but not a problem – Needs more socialization training or may just be a dog that prefers human company Respectful with other animals (cats, small pets, etc.) Amazing with cats - LOVE cats - has been in foster homes with cats previously Mouthy behavior Past this stage– Little to no interest in chewing on stuff or putting things in their mouth that aren't food. Doesn't try to chew on hands, feet, etc. during playtime Separation anxiety (Please leave your foster dog home alone every day for at least 20 minutes.) Past this stage – Completely fine being left home alone. Doesn't cry or exhibit destructive behavior when you leave the apartment or house. Leash manners Old Pro – Doesn't pull hard or need much direction. Cuddle bug level High – Wants to be in your lap pretty much all the time Jumping on people to say hello Calm Greetings – Doesn't jump up on people or dogs. Always all four on the floor. Crate training Not at all – Don't even have one, I've puppy proofed and we free range. Medical status: Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from Tennessee or Puerto Rico; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives. PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses. This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnycThis dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program.
