About Lena

Lena is a small-framed, large-breed Pit Bull Terrier who, at under 3 and a half years old, has come a long way since spending her first year entirely in a crate. She is extremely comfortable with crate time, but most of her energy these days goes into discovering the world outside. Lena is learning how to trust, how to handle new experiences, and how to be a dog in open spaces. She loves chasing balls in the yard but is just as content curled up for a movie night. Her foster mom says Lena is making real progress understanding that new things don't have to be scary. She does best with thoughtful, patient introductions to people and environments. Because fast-moving or unpredictable situations can overwhelm her, Lena needs a home without young children. She’s living with other dogs and cats in foster and can be introduced to potential adopters’ pets. For homes with cats, the rescue requires the cats be dog-savvy. Lena will need an adopter willing to let her settle in at her own pace, and in return, she offers affection and a playful spirit. Lena is an early Capricorn, so she comes by her carefulness and loyalty honestly. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
