Thanks to a compassionate foster family, she was safely rescued just in time and soon gave birth to four healthy puppies who have all since been adopted. Now Winter is waiting for someone to finally choose her. Because she spent her whole life surviving outdoors, Winter is naturally cautious and nervous around people. She isn’t immediately affectionate, but she’s incredibly gentle and very well behaved. She shows trust in quiet little ways — excited morning greetings, happy tail wags, playful bouncing in the yard, and peacefully relaxing near the people she feels safe around. Winter loves couches, sunshine, and calm environments. She ignores cats, gets along well with other dogs, and enjoys simply feeling safe and comfortable. While she currently prefers not to be touched much, her foster believes that with patience and time, she may continue learning how to fully trust and accept affection. She would do best in a quieter home with older children or adults who understand fearful dogs and are willing to let her adjust slowly. A secure backyard is essential, as she can become frightened and run in unfamiliar environments.
