About Neville

FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks! --- Meet Neville. This sweet boy was found wandering the streets in Fresno California. A family took him in to find his people with no luck, so he came to Save-A-Mutt. At about a year old and 12# - he's a mystery mutt for sure. Some people say he looks like a border collie mix? Papillon with those ears? Long hair chihuahua? Hard to say - but he's 100% a cutie!! His foster mom says: "He's such a chill little guy. Hung out on the couch with us most of the evening. No accidents (or even close calls). Real curious about things and explorative, but very respectful and hasn't gone for anything he shouldn't." And as you can see by the video, he loves a great game of ball. He was staying with a family that had dogs and cats with no issues. We think because of his smaller size a family with children over 8 would be preferred. This dog is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. He is also heart worm negative. The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. Adoptions typically take place in Stanwood. Adoption fee is $425. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home. Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your dog.
