About Pacino

FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks! --- Meet Pacino. We don't have a lot of information on Pacino's background - he was found as a stray by a Good Samaritan. She held onto him for a couple months in more of an outdoor kennel situation. When we moved him to our CA foster home, where it became apparent that he was no stranger to living in a house. He immediately became comfortable on the bed, in a crate, happy to be in a home again. Our veterinary team thinks Pacino is about two years old. He's 21# and just a happy dude. Just off transport he was wagging his tail and bonded with his pack of foster sisters - large and small. The foster's cat gave him some stink eye and he has been very respectful, so we think dog savvy cats would be OK. He seems to be housebroken, but will likely need reminders in a new home. He loves laps and couch time. The only 'odd' think about Pacino is his love of shoes. He does not chew them, he just gathers them. He puts them in his crate, on the couch. He's a collector... Ha! This dog is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. He is also heart worm negative. The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. Adoptions typically take place in Marysville. Adoption fee is $375. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home. Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your dog.
