About Frances

Tiny Beard. Massive Emotional Influence. Affectionately called Francie, this tiny Dachshund mix was born January 23rd and is somehow only a few pounds of scruffy sweetness, blue-eyed manipulation, and pure baby energy. She’s teeny tiny, low to the ground, and has the most ridiculous little scruffy beard that makes her look like a retired fisherman trapped inside the body of a baby woodland creature. Franci has the softest, sweetest personality. She’s affectionate, social, playful, and beautifully balanced. Outside, she absolutely lights up for playtime — following the other puppies around, bouncing through the grass, exploring the yard, and trying to participate in everybody’s business. But inside? She settles in wonderfully and just wants to be loved. Pick her up and she melts completely into your arms like she’s been waiting all day for somebody to hold her. One of our favorite things about her is the way she curls her little front legs sometimes when she sits down. Like a tiny polite lady at tea time. It is so unbelievably cute it almost feels made up. Francie has been socialized with dogs of all ages and sizes as well as children, and she approaches life with this sweet, trusting confidence that makes everybody around her fall in love instantly. She adores affection, loves being near her people, and has the kind of temperament that just feels easy. No chaos. No drama. Just a genuinely lovely little puppy who wants to be included in the world around her. Their sweet mama Macie is under 15 lbs, so we do not expect these babies to get very big, but Francie somehow already has the emotional impact of a dog that feels woven into your life immediately. She feels like sleepy puppy sighs, warm blankets, tiny paws following you through the house, and looking down to find a scruffy little face staring up at you like you’re the greatest thing she’s ever seen. We are completely obsessed with her. We have transports departing each week! +++++++ The Truth About Rescue: Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again. Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued. +++++++ What Is a Benefactor Dog or Puppy, and Why Is the Adoption Fee Higher? Benefactor dogs and puppies are typically purebreds or high-demand rescues who tend to find homes quickly—even with a higher adoption fee. These dogs play a special role in our mission. Their increased fees help cover the costs for dogs who need much more time, care, and resources before they’re ready for adoption. Some dogs spend months—even over a year—in our care, requiring expensive surgeries, heartworm treatment, behavioral training, or ongoing medical support. By adopting a Benefactor dog, you're not only giving them a loving home—you’re also helping to fund the second chance of another dog still waiting for theirs. It’s a meaningful way to make a difference beyond just one life. +++++++ Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com. Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.
