Join us at Merriam Petsmart and meet your perfect match. We’ll have DOGS, PUPPIES & KITTIES ready to steal your heart! SATURDAY, MAY 16 from 12-3PM: DOG ADOPTION EVENT at the OLATHE PETSMART at 119th & Strang Line with volunteers from Heart of America Humane Society. We'll have several wonderful dogs there looking for homes! ——————— ELANA is a pretty 2 year old Lab mix. She's a very sweet natured girl, but she hasn't been well socialized so is timid. She's very gentle with people and not aggressive at all, she just gets scared. She'll need someone to be patient and help her learn to trust and know that nothing bad will happen to her. The bonus is that Elana LOVES other dogs! She came in with 3 other dogs, and having a doggie friend around is a game changer. She feels safe and she loves to run and play. Elana needs to have another doggie friend in her new home, and she will be such a good companion for another dog looking for a buddy. Elana is still learning to walk on a leash-- it's scary for her. We're working with her but she still gets carried sometimes! So she'll need more work with that. Elana weighs 41 lbs. She will be a wonderful companion for the person who gives her a chance. ADOPTING A DOG Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older). If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match. We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend.
