About Iram

This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally. Meet Iram, an 8-month-old Lab / Collie mix, weighing 35 pounds (as of 5/15/26). Iram was surrendered by his owners from Mississippi and he's looking to bring some fun and loving to your home! Not too hyper and not too lazy, Iram is the perfect mix of fun and chill. In fact, he's like a chameleon, adaptable to all environments! Iram loves to play with toys, always returns his ball, gets along great with other dogs/people and is suuuuper cuddly! This boy was born to be a lap dog! He hasn't had experience with cats and he hasn't met kids yet, we think he'd do well with the kiddos, since he's a chill boy. Iram is also great on a leash and enjoys nature walks. Even if he was off leash, he'll stay by your side like an adorable shadow. He's not a barker and only barks for a reason like to tell you if the ice cream truck is nearby! Quick! Get those quarters ready! He rides well in a car so don't be surprised if he's riding shotgun on that same ice cream truck! Since he's currently kenneled outside, he'll need your love and patience as he gets the hang of crates and potty training. But mark our words, once he does, Iram will throw you a "Thank You" party for all your help! Hope you like funfetti cake! Medical Disclosure: Iram had a femoral injury before coming into our care. He got surgery in February 2026 and is recovering to be in tip top shape. This sweet boy can't wait to join your home; let Iram be your new best friend! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. To adopt or learn more about Iram, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $495] ** PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
