Bailey is a 1-year-old, 28 pound Collie mix with soft eyes, gentle manners, and a heart that just needs a little extra time to feel safe. She's very sweet, potty trained, and wonderfully calm once she settles in, but Bailey is still pretty scared of new people and environments. She needs slow introductions, patience, and a family that understands that trust is something she builds carefully, not instantly. This isn't a dog looking for chaos or constant activity. Bailey is looking for softness. A quiet place to decompress. A person who will let her adjust at her own pace and love her through the process. And when she finally feels safe enough to fully let her walls down? That kind of love hits different. Quiet dogs always do. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as our website, Chewy, Pet Finder, and others. These are in no way a guarantee.
