About Joey

Joey is a 10-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix whose world turned upside down when his owner passed away, leaving him and his two fellow Chihuahuas behind. With no family able to step in, he entered rescue scared and unsure, but lately, Joey has started to find a glimmer of trust again. While new faces can still make him bark, he's grown more curious and welcoming with people he knows. Underneath the nerves, Joey is a sensitive, gentle senior just searching for a little peace and security in his golden years. He weighs around 20 pounds and has a classic short, apricot-colored coat. Transition is still tough sometimes, and he’ll need someone who appreciates small milestones––someone patient, gentle, and able to give him a calm environment to land. Joey isn’t yet house trained, so either a securely fenced yard or a willingness to use pads indoors will be important. He does get along with other dogs and is up to date on his vaccinations, with no health problems noted. Joey is all bark, no bite, and truly deserves a home where he can finally relax and just be a dog again. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
