Meet Mr. Chip! Chip looks like he was gently electrocuted by a cartoon science experiment and somehow ended up even more adorable. Chip is sweet, easygoing, friendly, and about as low-maintenance as they come. He’s the kind of dog who settles seamlessly into the rhythm of a home and seems genuinely grateful for every soft bed, snack, sunny spot, and head rub that comes his way. When he’s not curled up napping somewhere cozy, he enjoys short little romps in the yard, lounging on the deck in the sunshine, and making sure he’s present for every meal and snack opportunity available to him. Chip is wonderfully unbothered by life. He gets along well with other dogs, rides nicely in the car, walks well on leash, sleeps through the night, and doesn’t seem particularly interested in causing problems for anyone. We also haven’t found much that upsets him, which feels like a rare and admirable quality these days. Chip’s fur has a remarkable ability to defy gravity, alternating between “tiny retired rockstar” and “stuck his paw in an outlet,” largely because he strongly prefers that nobody fuss too much with grooming around his face. Honestly, we respect the boundary. Chip is blind in his right eye and has dry eye that requires ointment twice daily. He needs a helping hand navigating stairs, particularly going up. He also wears a belly band, though he does go to the bathroom outside when taken out regularly. Chip would do best in a calm home without young children, ideally with people who are around often, love to snuggle, and are happy to embrace a slower pace of life. A fenced yard for his little outdoor strolls and sunbathing sessions is a must in his book. Chip is one of those dogs who sneaks up on you. One minute he’s just a funny-looking little senior with questionable hair decisions, and the next minute you’re completely obsessed with him and making sure he has the fluffiest bed in the house.
