Meet Slim Shady! He’s about 4 months old and part velociraptor (aka Golden Retriever), and maybe Labrador—that’s my best guess! Slim has had a rough start to life. He was extremely malnourished and in need of medical attention. Thankfully, he found his way to the right rescue, where he’s been able to recover and start his journey to finding a forever home. He’s also a parkour champion—not officially, but I’ve dubbed him with the title. He’s got energy galore and multiple personalities to keep you on your toes! Slim sometimes likes to cuddle, but only on his terms. He much prefers belly rubs, scratches, and pets. He’s very attached to a small stuffed lion—he carries it everywhere and even sleeps with it. He’s extremely derpy in the most comedic way. Sometimes he seems to forget how to walk and will just flop onto the floor. Don’t worry—he’s not broken, he’s just in “floor charging mode.” Once he flips onto his back, he’s fully charged and ready to unleash parkour chaos! He’s food-motivated, and loud sounds don’t faze him one bit. He’ll even pick up his food dish and drop it loudly to let you know he’s ready to eat. He also tries to walk himself by grabbing the leash, though he usually gives up quickly because he gets distracted by...well, everything. Slim is kennel trained and currently working on potty training. He would thrive in a home with kids, a yard to run out his zoomies, and maybe another dog to be his buddy. He loves all kinds of toys and enjoys chasing balls. He’s sweet, affectionate, and basically pure ADHD with fur (aka Golden Retriever energy). All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.
