This sweet boy has made so much progress since leaving the shelter. Underneath the timidness is a gentle, loving dog who wants so badly to feel safe and connected. Once Oliver starts to trust you, the little moments feel huge — choosing to stay close, relaxing beside you, following his dog friends around the house. Oliver absolutely thrives with other dogs and truly comes out of his shell when he has confident canine companions around him. Because of that, we would love to see him in a home with another friendly dog to help show him the world is okay. That said, Oliver will need a very patient and understanding adopter. He is not a dog who will adjust overnight or immediately welcome new people and environments. Building trust with him takes time, consistency, and gentle expectations — but watching him slowly gain confidence is incredibly rewarding. He’s looking for someone willing to meet him where he is and let him move at his own pace.
